Course overview

A practical session taking delegates through the various stages of a property development, including site acquisition, development agreement, funding and onward sale

Property focused session with elements of construction, tax, procurement and planning where appropriate

Duration: Half a day (3 training hours) including lunch

Presenter profiles:

Kassra Powles – Kassra specialises in commercial property; acts for developers, estates and general commercial clients in freehold and leasehold transactions, as well as providing property support for corporate transactions.

James Hart is a partner in Freeths’ public sector real estate team. He advises local authorities nationwide on property matters, with a particular focus on development schemes and major projects. Local authority clients describe him as “commercially astute” and providing an “exemplary level of service” to the sector. His recent high-profile public sector development projects have included the town centre redevelopments at Cotgrave for Rushcliffe Borough Council and Beeston for Broxtowe Borough Council, the new city-centre Premier Inn under construction in central Milton Keynes for Milton Keynes Development Partnership and Alstom’s new rail-connected train manufacturing plant at Widnes for Halton Borough Council.

Ola Sobowale is a Senior Solicitor specialising in Regeneration and Procurement at Royal Borough of Greenwich.  Her particular specialisms are Planning and Environmental Law, Commercial and Residential Property, Commercial Contracts, Regulatory Law and Employment Law.  Ola undertakes all facets of Complex Commercial Property transactions including large scale purchases of large buildings. Full conduct of Sale of Council freehold land, Development agreements, Buy Back of Council houses, industrial and Commercial Leases and shops.
