How to draft effective contracts

Course overview

How do we write the perfect contract, and does such a thing exist? We will explore the ways in which effective contracts are written, focussing on some key areas that local authorities will deal with and specific contract terms. We will also touch on contract management, what can be done to improve existing contracts using some anonymised goods and services contracts we have drafted for previous clients.

Presenter profiles:

Craig is a partner at Browne Jacobson sitting in the Government and Infrastructure team and takes a lead on major projects, procurements and high-value local and central government work. Craig has over fifteen years’ experience advising public and private sector bodies in relation to PFI, PPP and other long term commercial arrangements.

Karl Edwards is a solicitor at Browne Jacobson sitting in the Government and Infrastructure team having trained at the firm and qualified in September 2018. He specialises in public procurement, state aid and commercial projects with a focus on procurement and commercial contracts
