We will also give guidance on the fundamentals of the costs regime including detailed assessment and how to draft points of dispute.

The course will then consider the main developments in case law over the last year, this will include consideration of highways claims, abuse claims and case law involving the CPR.

Presenter profiles:

Chris Webb-Jenkins, Partner, Weightmans LLP Chris has over 18 years’ experience acting for local authorities and social care providers in the public, private and voluntary sectors. His clients include insurers, local authorities, health trusts, housing providers, national charities, domiciliary and residential care providers, and sports governing bodies. As well as defending claims, with particular experience in abuse group actions, he also provides legal advice on all aspects of social care and safeguarding, covering both adults and children.

John Riddell, Partner, Weightmans LLP – John has nearly thirty years’ experience of acting for local authorities in public law litigation. His expertise includes all kinds of negligence claims and judicial review. He is the client partner for EM Lawshare.

Adam Clemens: Solicitor and Team Leader of The Litigation and Prosecution team within Leicestershire County Council Legal services with approximately 27 years combined within Private Practice (17 years plus ) In-House (3 years) and within a Local Authority setting ( 6 Years) with a wide range of experience in Civil Litigation acting for both Claimants and Defendants including personal injury , Landlord and Tenant , negligence and contractual disputes.
